LIFE CYCLE

  • The Queen lays eggs in late spring
  • The larvae hatch in 3 – 4 weeks
  • The larvae feed on queen’s saliva until the worker ants emerge
  • The workers continue care for larvae, by nest building and finding food
  • The fertile males are produced in later summer
