How To Get Rid of The Smells Left By Rats and Mice

January 17, 2023

Rats and mice are the most common pests that you will find in your home. They can ruin your property by leaving behind unwanted waste and disease-causing agents. These pests can also damage electrical appliances and make food unpalatable for humans, pets and other animals.

What attracts rats and mice

  • Entry points: Rodents have a tendency to make their homes near entry points in your home—like underneath sinks or between baseboards—so that they can easily get into them when you're not looking.
  • Food and water: Rodents are attracted to food and water sources, which are usually the same places where they can find shelter. They also like dark, warm places because they're easier to keep cool in hot weather.
  • Lack of predators: Rodents are generally shy creatures that don't want anything bad happening to them (like getting caught), so if there aren't any predators around then rats will be sure not to bother anyone else either!

How to neutralise bad smells

  • Diatomaceous earth is a fine powder that contains tiny, fossilized shell fragments from algae called diatoms. It's very effective at killing off pests because it dehydrates them when they encounter it. So, sprinkle some into your trashcan every day to keep these unwanted visitors away from your home!
  • Peppermint oil is another natural solution for removing odours from your home; just dilute it with water before spraying over all surfaces where there might still be some lingering odour left behind after cleaning up any spills or accidents (like puddles of urine). The scent will help mask those smells while keeping pests out at bay!
  • Baking soda has also been known to reduce odours by absorbing moisture in its surroundings which causes mould growth within cracks in walls or around pipes leading outside areas such as basements beneath homes where rodents like living spaces close enough together, so they'd have easy access without having any trouble getting through doors too much effort either way which means less work needed afterwards too
  • Neutradol - helps dull strong smells and neutralise the air
  •  Ona Gel - neutralises the air, eco-friendly and non toxic

Rats and mice are not just rats and mice, they’re also pests that can cause serious damage to your property. You can use these tips or other methods of getting rid of the smells left by rodents, but for best results it is recommended that you contact a professional pest control company.
